How applications work
- Choose an opportunity and review its eligibility, what you agree to do and the access period.
- Submit the relevant application using your CUHK credentials, stating your learning objective.
- ITSC or the responsible programme verifies your eligibility and the available places.
- Eligible applications are processed using the method described in How places are allocated.
- Activate your place, begin learning and respond to programme communications.
- If you do not activate your place, begin the activity, meet the stated participation requirements or respond to reminders within the stated period, your place may be offered to another applicant.
How places are allocated
Places are offered in the order applications are received. If all places are taken, eligible applicants will be added to a waiting list.
Being on the waiting list does not guarantee an offer. If a place becomes available, it will be offered to the next eligible applicant in application order.

About reporting. If participation requirements continue not to be met, relevant information may be shared with the responsible Faculty, Department or programme only to administer the programme, offer places to other applicants and provide learning support. This is not an academic, disciplinary or performance assessment, and participation information is not used to rank students.
Important distinctions
- Learning is not a licence. LinkedIn Learning access, Google Career Certificate Programme places, Gemini access, enterprise AI licences, API Portal tokens and resources charged according to usage are separate arrangements with separate eligibility and approval requirements.
- Completing a course, training activity or other listed learning opportunity does not unlock access. It does not automatically grant an enterprise licence, an advanced tier, an API token, a credit allocation or a consumption-based resource.
- API tokens are separate again. They are not included with an Enterprise AI licence, they are not guaranteed by completing a course or training activity, and they are governed separately from Copilot Cowork and Perplexity Computer.
- Services charged according to usage are under evaluation. Copilot Cowork and Perplexity Computer are being compared through demand collection. Neither is available to request.
- Completing learning does not provide a general way to obtain access. There is no learning-hour threshold to meet and no application for advanced access based on learning. Any future opportunity would require separate approval and announced conditions.
- Course-required access is arranged by your teacher. If a service is needed for a class or an assessed activity, the teacher, course or programme should arrange access for the whole class or student group. You should not need to apply individually for a required class activity.

Development and API learning
Students and project participants in approved development activities — Learning for responsible development, models, APIs, tokens, quotas and consumption awareness. Completing a course or training activity does not guarantee tokens or quota; completed learning may be considered only where an announced opportunity explicitly says so.
